The titanium wizards at Firefly Bicycles make some truly lustworthy custom titanium frames, along with a growing range of components to accompany them. From stems and seatposts to headsets and seat collars, Firefly crafts seriously classy-looking, high-end titanium parts that can add elegance to any custom build. Just recently, the brand expanded its product selection with 3D-printed Radar Mounts designed to integrate with its Titanium Seat Collars.

Firefly Radar Mount Details

Like everything else Firefly makes, the new Radar Mount is made of titanium. It is 3D-printed in the shape of a circular housing inside of which a Garmin or Wahoo insert is then attached. It is only compatible with Firefly’s Seat Collars, both standard and integrated. Firefly’s lightweight Ti Seat Collars feature a dual-barrel design for perfect bolt alignment and clamping force.

Attaching the Radar Mount requires swapping one of the collar’s barrels out for one with a short extension. The post of the 3D-printed mount then bolts to the barrel’s extension and can be pivoted to optimize its angle. It can also be flipped to position it above or below the seat collar to suit varying frame sizes or radar-height preferences.

The Firefly Radar Mount is compatible with the most popular radars on the market, including the Wahoo Trackr Radar, Garmin Varia RearVue 820, Garmin Varia RTL515, and Garmin Varia RVR315 (but not the Garmin Varia RCT715). The brand says that it’s also compatible with virtually any rear bike light that attaches to a Garmin or Wahoo quarter-turn mount. When purchasing, buyers choose between the Garmin- or Wahoo-style inserts to match their device’s mount style.

Firefly did not share the weight of the Radar Mount, nor is it listed on the product page of the website, but we think it’s safe to assume it’s probably pretty light. Purchasing one will definitely lighten up your wallet a bit, too. The 3D-printed titanium Radar Mount retails for $125. Again, it is only compatible with Firefly’s Titanium Seat Collars, which start at $120. If you buy both at the same time, you take $13 off the price of the Radar Mount. Still, these bits are undoubtedly luxury items.

Availability

Firefly says that they launched the new Radar Mounts a few weeks ago, and the first batch sold out very quickly. They’ve since had the chance to 3D-print some more, and they are currently back in stock. Head to the Firefly website to check out the new Radar Mount, the rest of the titanium component lineup, or to start dreaming about a new custom Ti frame.
