I used to write a lot more. I’d throw down thoughts on racing, where the sport was going, what was working and what wasn’t. Lately, it feels like there’s less space for that. Everything’s short now—clips, reels, posts. Fast-paced and quickly forgettable. It began to feel like a waste. But I’m writing this anyway. Not because I expect a million people to read it, but because I care. And maybe you do too.
We had our first practice this weekend. It was a good day. Riders showed up. To be honest it felt good having people back at the track. That TransCan national excitement was in the air. But in a handful of different conversations with people I respect, people I know who care, I kept hearing the same thing:
“How do we grow moto?”
“Is this sustainable?”
“What’s next year look like?”
“Is it worth it if things don’t change?”

Here’s the thing I keep coming back to: if this sport is going to grow, if it’s going to survive, it won’t be because we found a new magical audience out there somewhere. It’ll be because the people who already love it decided to show up in a different way.
You want to help motocross in Canada?
Buy a ticket.
It’s that simple.
Seriously, buy a ticket to a National. Not just because you’re going, not just because your kid is racing, but because it matters. Because every ticket sold tells the people putting on these events it is worth it. It builds confidence. It gives a little more room to breathe, to plan, to invest. It helps rent the backup equipment, hire more staff, fix the old water truck, build something bigger. It creates security, and with security, we can start building a future.

We all want bigger purses, better tracks, more fans, cooler events. But those things don’t just magically appear. They happen when the people who are already part of this world; you, me, all of us decide to back it in small, simple, consistent ways. I get it. Times are tight. Everyone’s stretched. But buying a ticket to a race is one of the easiest, most direct ways to support this thing we love. No politics. No gate-keeping. Just a simple act that says “I love Moto and I believe in this.”
Imagine if every licensed rider in Canada bought a ticket to just 3 Nationals.
Just think about that for a second. We have an immediate rise. You’d see promoters stand a little taller. Tracks would have the amenities we all want. Sponsors would lean in. Riders would feel that energy from the fences. The sport would grow not because of some social moment, but because the people in it finally stopped waiting for someone else to fix it.
Motocross has always been about grit. It’s been held together by passion, duct tape (Pat Beasely!), and people who just won’t quit. We don’t need a miracle. We need commitment. We need belief, and honestly, we just need each other.

So yeah, maybe this gets read by ten people. Maybe a hundred. Maybe more. But even if one person reads it and goes out and buys a ticket not because they have to, but because they want to then maybe it’s already working.
We don’t need outsiders to save us. We’ve got enough people right here who love this sport enough to carry it forward. But it starts with us.
Buy the damn ticket.
