Bosnia and Herzegovina’s star wing Dzanan Musa recently underwent emergency surgery, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming EuroBasket.

According to Radio Sarajevo, Musa experienced significant abdominal pain that required immediate medical attention.

He traveled to Munich, Germany, for the procedure and is now in recovery, leaving his participation in the tournament uncertain. The EuroBasket is set to begin on August 27, and Musa’s status remains questionable.

A representative of Musa told Radio Sarajevo, “Dzanan expressed his desire to do everything possible to ensure his recovery and to leave room for a possible appearance at the upcoming EuroBasket, in line with his great desire to be with the team in Cyprus. In this situation, his appearance is certainly uncertain.”

Should Musa be unable to compete, Bosnia and Herzegovina will face a major setback in its hopes of advancing past the group stage in Limassol, Cyprus.

The player had been a dominant force in the 2022 tournament, averaging 22.8 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game.
