Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayConor Benn believes a showdown with Ryan Garcia would end early. While answering questions from fans during a recent appearance, Benn was asked how many rounds it would take him to knock out the WBC welterweight champion. Rather than backing away from the question, Benn predicted an aggressive start and said he would be looking for a quick finish.
“I got a lot to prove in this fight. Not just to everyone else, but to myself,” said Benn during today’s Zuffa press conference. “The 10 years ago, me as a kid who first turned over, to be in the position I’m in now, where I can solidify my own legacy and prove that, irrelevant of all the noise, irrelevant of all the haters, irrelevant of all the ‘nos, you can’t do it.'”
Benn said the opportunity to face Garcia would allow him to answer critics and establish himself among the top names in the division.
“I’m going to go into this fight fueled with a chip on my shoulder to prove to the world that I will and will be the greatest WBC champion,” said Conor.
“For me to answer your question, I’m going to come out fast and put it on him and hopefully get him out there early within four.”
Ryan previously stated during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he expects to defend his WBC welterweight title against Benn on September 12 in Las Vegas, although the fight has not yet been officially announced.
Benn also addressed Garcia’s dangerous left hook when another fan asked about the weapon that has helped produce many of the champion’s biggest victories.
“What am I looking for? They said don’t hook with a hooker. That’s exactly what I’m going to do,” said Benn.
Based on his comments, Benn expects an aggressive fight should the matchup become official.
