The Los Angeles Clippers are not expected to receive any of the five forfeited first round picks back from the NBA, Adam Silver confirmed during a press conference from the Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday.

There had been some speculation that the Clippers could follow the precedent of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were originally stripped of five first round picks for salary cap circumvention involving Joe Smith and then received two of them back.

"The discipline is final, to your direct question," said Silver. "I don't think it would be appropriate to take you through the back and forth with the Players Association. I did meet directly with Kawhi recently. I think we all agree it's time to move forward here. I think David Kelly represented his player well and the interest of the Players Association. All I can say is I think we reached a fair outcome for everyone."

The Clippers received two future first round picks and a pick swap in their trade of Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors this week. The Clippers also had the No. 5 overall pick in this year's draft via the Indiana Pacers. The Clippers retain their own draft pick in the 2027 NBA draft.

The Clippers initially appeared ready to contest the NBA's punishment of the franchise legally, but that was expected to be a challenge they would be unlikely to win given past precedents.

Steve Ballmer accepted the NBA's punishment in a public statement on Sunday.
