Former WBO champion and WBC No.1 contender both hit 200 pounds ahead of Zuffa Boxing’s UK debut in Bournemouth

Chris Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KOs) and Ryan Rozicki (21-1-1, 20 KOs) both weighed 200 pounds ahead of their June 6 cruiserweight clash in Bournemouth. The matchup pairs a former WBO champion with the WBC’s No.1-ranked contender as Zuffa Boxing launches its first UK event.

“I’m coming home,” Billam-Smith said. “Zuffa Boxing is all about proper fights under the lights and that’s exactly what Rozicki brings.”

Rozicki arrives in Bournemouth with 20 knockouts in 21 victories and the highest ranking of his career. The Canadian has spent years pushing toward a world title opportunity and now faces a former champion fighting in front of his hometown crowd.

“You can’t have a bad night against him because of the power he carries,” Billam-Smith said via Sky Sports. “So I need to be on it.”

Rozicki welcomed the challenge.

“It’s a tough fight, and that’s exactly what I wanted when I signed with Zuffa Boxing,” Rozicki said. “I know what he brings, and I respect that. But he hasn’t been in there with someone like me. I’m focused on my work, taking it day by day, and I’ll be ready on fight night. The fans are going to get a real fight.”

The co-feature also saw both cruiserweights make weight comfortably. Jack Massey weighed 200 pounds (90.7 kg), while Chev Clarke came in at 199.5 pounds (90.5 kg).

Elsewhere, Lee Cutler and Aaron Sutton both registered 163 pounds (73.9 kg) for their middleweight contest. Stevie McKenna weighed 160 pounds (72.6 kg), with Casey Streeter at 159 pounds (72.1 kg), while Sam Hickey and Todd Tompkins each scaled 163 pounds (73.9 kg).

The heavyweight bout between Harvey Dykes and Ivan Dychko produced the largest weight difference on the card. Dykes came in at 270 pounds (122.5 kg), while Dychko weighed 243 pounds (110.2 kg).

Leon Hughes weighed 176 pounds (79.8 kg) for his light heavyweight bout against Mario Vergiev, who came in at 178 pounds (80.7 kg). Alex MacMillan and Leo Fanthome both weighed 150 pounds (68.0 kg) for their middleweight contest.

Every fighter made weight, leaving Friday night’s card set to proceed as scheduled in Bournemouth.
