Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCamille Estephan says Adames is showing willingness to face Iglesias as discussions continue for a super middleweight title fight
Negotiations are advancing for a potential IBF super middleweight title fight between Osleys Iglesias and Carlos Adames, and Iglesias’ promoter believes the WBC middleweight champion is showing a willingness few others have shown. Camille Estephan praised Adames while suggesting many fighters stop talking about unification once Iglesias enters the conversation.
“They all talk about unification until they hear Iglesias!” promoter Camille Estephan told Ring Magazine. “Adames seems to have the guts to step in the ring with him.”
The comments came as negotiations continue for what would be Iglesias’ first defense of the IBF super middleweight title. The unbeaten Cuban has built a reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous punchers, stopping 14 of his 15 opponents.
Adames, meanwhile, has repeatedly signaled that his days at middleweight are coming to an end. The WBC middleweight champion has spent recent weeks posting on social media about moving to 168 pounds and pursuing the biggest challenges available.
If the fight is finalized, Adames would be taking on one of the division’s most avoided fighters in his first bout as a super middleweight while pursuing a world title in a second weight class.
No official announcement has been made, but talks appear to be moving toward a deal for one of the more intriguing matchups available at 168 pounds.
A victory would represent the biggest win of either fighter’s career and could immediately reshape the championship picture at 168 pounds heading into 2027 and beyond.
