O’Shaquie Foster believes his latest victory only strengthened his standing as one of the most avoided fighters in the sport.

The WBC super featherweight champion is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ray Ford, a win that added another notable name to his resume and kept him firmly among the top fighters at 130 pounds.

Asked whether he now views himself as the division’s boogeyman, Foster took the idea a step further.

“I feel like I’m the boogeyman in all of boxing,” said Foster to Ring Magazine. “Whether I go to 30, whether I go to 35, 40, I feel like I’m the guy that they don’t want to see just because of what I bring to the table as far as they know my mentality. And then it’s hard to prepare for a guy like me.

“So, I definitely feel like I’m the boogeyman.”

The victory over Ford marked another successful title defense for Foster and extended a run that has seen him face several of the top fighters in the junior lightweight division.

Foster’s victory came just five months after his previous outing. The champion said he has already watched the fight several times and believes he controlled the action throughout, despite some suggesting the contest was closer than he felt it was.

Foster improved his standing at 130 pounds with the victory and remains the WBC junior lightweight champion as he looks ahead to his next fight later this year and beyond.
