Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe Chicago Bulls have fielded multiple trade calls on Coby White this offseason, but reports suggest the team isn’t interested in moving him.
“I know multiple teams tried to trade for Coby this summer,” one NBA executive told Ashish Mathur of Dallas Hoops Journal. “There was some chatter that he was almost traded on draft night. The Bulls love him though… They have shot down trade inquiries for him.”
White, the No. 7 pick in 2019, has grown from a bench scorer to Chicago’s primary offensive option, averaging 20.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds since the start of 2023/24.
He elevated his game further after Zach LaVine’s departure, putting up 25 points a night over his final 25 games while leading the Bulls to a 17-8 record.
Despite being on a bargain three-year, $36M deal signed in 2023, White can’t extend at market value before 2026. With unrestricted free agency looming, speculation lingers that Chicago may eventually consider trading him to avoid losing him for nothing.
For now, though, the Bulls appear committed to keeping White and plan to leverage his Bird rights to re-sign him next summer.
