The Atlanta Hawks will fully guaranteed Buddy Hield's $9.6 million salary for the 2026-27 season. Hield's salary was previously guaranteed for $3 million but will become fully guaranteed with Atlanta electing to keep him on the roster past today.

The Hawks acquired Hield last season, along with Jonathan Kuminga, in a mid-season trade that sent Kristaps Porzingis to the Golden State Warriors. The veteran shooting guard appeared in seven regular season games for Atlanta, followed by two playoff games.

Atlanta is exploring options where they would use Hield's salary to help in matching incoming salary in a trade. Hield has a player option for the 2027-28 season. That season is $3.1 million guaranteed if Hield picks up his option.
