Earlier tonight in front of his fans, former two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno finally snapped his two-fight losing skid after a 15-minute back-and-forth affair against Joseph Morales in the co-main event of Noche UFC.

In the first round, Joseph Morales decided to stand and box with Brandon Moreno in the center of the octagon right after the opening bell. Moreno caught him with multiple combinations and jabs, but Morales ate the shots and landed plenty of his own. “Bopo” also scored a takedown and continued fighting in Moreno’s firing range, landing his own shots while absorbing a few heavy hits.

Round 2 was a better round for Moreno. He kept marching forward and tagging Morales. Morales handled the relentless pressure, stayed on the back foot, and did not control the pace. However, he landed precise counters and looked like the cleaner striker in the back-and-forth battle.

In Round 3, “The Assassin Baby” controlled the center, backed up Morales, and kept pressuring with nonstop action. Moreno also scored a takedown, secured full guard, and racked up ground control time until the final bell.

Official decison: Brandon Moreno defeated Joseph Morales via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 30-37) at Noche UFC.
