Bradley Beal is expected to wear the No. 3 jersey for the Los Angeles Clippers next season, sources told ESPN.

The jersey number has long been associated with Chris Paul, who wore the number from 2011 through 2017 and for a brief time last season.

Beal seemingly addressed the situation on social media, writing "He's a legend! The HISTORY and BRAND can't be touched, nor erased!!!"

Beal wore No. 3 for the first 13 years of his career with the Wizards and Suns before switching to No. 0 last season with the Clippers.

The team initially gave Beal the No. 3 jersey when he signed last summer, though Beal gave the number to Paul after the point guard returned to the roster.

Beal re-signed with the Clippers on a two-year, $13.2 million deal.
