Ausar Thompson and the Detroit Pistons have agreed to a five-year, $155 million contract extension. The deal is fully guaranteed for Thompson.

Thompson's brother, Amen Thompson, recently signed a five-year, $208 million extension with the Houston Rockets.

Thompson finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season.

Thompson averaged 9.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 26.0 minutes over 73 games for the Pistons.
