Aron Katona’s 2026 season has come to an early end. The Van Venrooy KTM Racing Team rider suffered a collarbone injury during a training session and has since undergone successful surgery.

The injury brings an early conclusion to a season in which Katona delivered several strong performances. At the most recent EMX250 round in Portugal, he claimed an impressive second place in one of the motos. Earlier this season, he also secured a podium finish and consistently demonstrated his speed and potential.

The coming weeks and months will be fully focused on recovery. Despite the disappointment, Katona remains positive and is already determined to make a strong comeback.

Aron Katona

“Unfortunately, this is not how I had hoped my season would end. I have to accept that my season is over. It has been a year with ups and downs, but overall I achieved some very good results, including a podium finish. That’s why I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished this season.

This setback doesn’t change my motivation. I’m already looking ahead to what’s next, and I’ll come back stronger than ever. A big thank you to the team and to everyone who has supported me throughout this year.”

The Van Venrooy KTM Racing Team wishes Aron a smooth and speedy recovery.
