Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.

Derek McInnes set the rumour mill spinning on Sunday when he told Glasgow Rangers supporters that he was hopeful of securing a signing within the next 48 hours from the time.
The following day, it emerged that the Light Blues are closing in on the signing of Philadelphia Union central defender Olwethu Makhanya ahead of the Scottish Premiership opener against Dundee United on Friday.
Rangers are set to pay a fee of £3m to bring the South Africa international over to Ibrox to bolster McInnes' options at the back, and it remains to be seen if he will be available for the first game of the campaign.
The Gers are looking to make further additions after Makhanya, though, as they are said to be exploring a deal to sign Vaclav Cerny from Besiktas for a fee of £8.5m.
The big mistake Rangers made with Vaclav Cerny
Signing the Czechia international for £8.5m this summer would shine a light on the big mistake that the club made with the winger at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Cerny spent the season on loan at Ibrox after being signed on loan from Wolfsburg by Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen, scoring 18 goals and providing nine assists in that time.
Yet, despite his exceptional form for the club that term, new manager and sporting director Russell Martin and Kevin Thelwell opted against a permanent move for the forward, allowing Besiktas to swoop in and sign him from Wolfsburg for £6m.

The Scottish giants fumbled the chance to sign him for £2.5m cheaper than they will have to pay to bring him to Ibrox this summer, whilst also missing out on a season's worth of performances from the exciting attacker.
Martin and Thelwell both left Glasgow after less than half-a-season at the club, and their mistake with Cerny was just one of a number of contributing factors.
Rangers in talks to sign their next Vaclav Cerny
Instead of splashing out the best part of £10m to bring the 28-year-old star back to Ibrox, though, the club could look for a younger version of the Czech wing wizard.
The Daily Record reports that Glasgow Rangers are interested in a deal to sign Amario Cozier-Dubbery from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
New club-to-club talks have been opened between the two sides about a possible transfer for the 21-year-old talent, who spent last season on loan at Bolton.
The report claims that Anderlecht have already had an offer of £5m turned down for the forward, though, which means that the Gers will have to go above £5m if they want to sign him permanently.
Rangers should work tirelessly to agree a deal with Brighton for the 21-year-old talent because he is cut from the same cloth as Cerny, and may not cost as much as £8.5m.
The Light Blues, in theory, could land a similar player to the Czechia international for less money, whilst he is also seven years younger than the ex-Ibrox star.

Cozier-Dubbery is a left-footed right winger who has the potential to offer a consistent threat as both a scorer and a creator of goals at the top end of the pitch, as evidenced by his form for Bolton on loan in League One last term.
The former Arsenal academy player outperformed his xG, as Cerny did for Rangers in the Premiership during his time at the club, and hit double figures for assists in the third tier of English football.
Brighton's young starlet would offer the same kind of tactical flexibility to McInnes that Cerny would, as he would arrive in Glasgow as the only naturally left-footed winger in the squad.
The Gers need more variety in their wide options, as all of their current options are right-footed, and Cozier-Dubbery would provide that, as well as being a quality operator who can be a difference-maker in the final third.
He may not be as experienced or as proven as Cerny, who has already shown that he can perform in a Rangers shirt, but his form last season suggests that he has the potential to be just as impactful at the top end of the pitch.
McInnes, therefore, can forget about pushing for the 49ers to spent £8.5m on the Besiktas attacker and, instead, prioritise the signing of Cozier-Dubbery from Brighton to bolster his attack.
