The sun was shining bright over Romagné, France this Friday as the paddock came to life for the official welcome of the 2025 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship. With 34 nations proudly represented and 215 riders officially checked in through registration and technical control, the atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation.

As teams rolled in, the paddock buzzed with anticipation, team managers, riders and staff from across the globe walked the track together, sharing strategy, laughs, and togetherness.

The day ended on a high note with a cheerful and colourful team presentation hosted by Lisa Leyland and Radka Mazakova. Every national team stepped on stage to thunderous applause, proudly showing their appreciation to be there and receiving their medals while wearing their country’s colours which was a beautiful moment for these young athletes.

During the ceremony, several key figures took the stage to offer their support and encouragement. Patrizia Maskarova, General Manager of the Junior Motocross World Championship at Infront Moto Racing, welcomed all the teams and extended heartfelt thanks to the FIM, the FFM, and the Moto Club of Romagné for their outstanding cooperation. She celebrated the continued growth of the event, highlighting its importance as a cornerstone in the development of motocross talent. She also announced a historic first: Sunday’s races will be broadcast live on MXGP-TV.com.

As a special gesture of appreciation, she presented a commemorative plate to Jean-Pierre Villerbue, President of the Romagné Motoclub, thanking him and his dedicated team for their incredible efforts in hosting and organising such a world-class event.

FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela and FFM’s President of the National Motocross Commission, Jean-Pierre Forest, also shared inspiring words, praising the international reach and future impact of the FIM Junior MX World Championship. Nikos Psimmenos, FIM Sustainability Delegate, encouraged all teams to think beyond racing and act as role models by embracing sustainability. He introduced the Ride Green Cup and challenged teams to share their eco-friendly actions on social media throughout the weekend, with the most engaged and environmentally conscious team being awarded on Sunday.

Patrick Bertaud, Vice President of the FFM and President of the Bretagne Motocross League, reflected on the importance of this event for young riders and its legacy in the careers of many current motocross stars.

Jean-Pierre Villerbue expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the club members and volunteers who made the event possible and warmly welcomed everyone to Romagné and the surrounding region.

The celebration reached an emotional high as Team France closed the ceremony with a powerful rendition of La Marseillaise. The spirit of camaraderie and pride was impossible to miss. Teams from the USA, the Netherlands, Australia, Italy, and of course the host country France were out in full force, while countries like Germany, Great Britain and Spain brought large and passionate delegations.

A particularly moving moment came when Team Uganda took the stage, visibly emotional and proud to represent their country and continent on the world stage. Their journey to Romagné marked a powerful symbol of motocross’s growing global reach.

As each rider stepped forward to receive their medal, the joy and excitement on their faces said it all. The pride of representing their nation, the honour of competing in this unique and amazing event, and the anticipation of taking to the track were written in every smile and cheer.
