Presented by FXR Racing: The stage is set for the 450 class as the lights come on at Dignity Health Sports Park for the second round of the 2026 SMX playoffs. Jorge Prado will carry the red plate into the night with 42 points, but Haiden Deegan is only two points back after sweeping both motos in Columbus and immediately putting himself into the center of the championship fight. Cooper Webb sits close behind with 38 points, while Ken Roczen, Dylan Ferrandis and Hunter Lawrence remain within striking distance as the series moves into its double-points round. With twice the usual points available tonight and only the finale in Missouri left after Los Angeles, the championship can change dramatically over the course of two motos. The opening round showed how quickly momentum can shift, and now the 450 field gets another chance to make its move when the gates drop in Carson.

Aaron Plessinger rode to a solid 8th place. Come A1, we should see Aaron aboard another manufacturer’s motorcycle.

Hunter Lawrence would grab the hole shot in moto 2, with Prado and Webb right behind him. Prado didn’t waste any time making a move on Hunter, pushing him high in turn two. Just a few turns later, Prado would come up short on the quad after the finish line, allowing Hunter back into first. The top 5 would pull a large gap on the rest of the field. At the 10-minute mark, the race would fall apart for a couple of riders. Prado would crash in the sand and both Rozcen and Prado would get passed by Deegan in just two corners. Haiden’s fitness really showed late in this moto. Hunter’s first place was extremely quiet with all the chaos happening behind him. The last two minutes of the race were the most exciting, not because of the passing, but because of the mistakes made by the top 4. Deegan would pass Prado to crash two corners later; Deegan would block Roczen while bike up his motorcycle, and again Deegan would get up and clean out his teammate Cooper Webb. Deegan absolutely made the headlines here in the 450 motos at the Los Angeles SMX.

Prado would come up short on the big Quad. At first glance, he looked to be injured, but a lap later would regain his momentum.

What may be the most important thing in a Supercross race? The start!

Jorge Prado would again add another holeshot to his tally. Deegan, who had a fourth-place start, would make his way to second by the end of the first lap. With Ken Roczen in chase, Ken would show unreal corner speed in the dark sand section and chop Deegan off to capture second. Eli Tomac is having a great farewell tour; he rode around in a quiet 5th place for most of the race. Lap 11, the battle was on! Roczen and Prado battled for a few straights before Roczen took the lead and immediately pulled 3 seconds on Prado. Prado eventually caught back up to Roczen and showed him his front fender a few times. Respect to Prado, he had a chance to clean out Roczen a few times, but opted to race cleanly.

Deegan finished with a solid third-place ride.  

Prado would have multiple chances to T-UP Roczen; like a respectable racer, he raced him clean.
