Big Bear Mountain, four days, one Grand Prix! Year two of the race that keeps growing the way real community events do: by word of mouth, by people who show up once and can’t stay away. We talked to the crew who hand-picked rocks off the hill for two weeks straight to build the track, the racers who drove hours just to line up for it, and the guy calling it “the best thing that’s happened to Big Bear in a long time.” Watched Colton fight through some of the most technical rock sections he’s ever ridden. Watched Mason stay smooth and consistent all the way to the win. Watched a track crew boss look out at a torn-up mountain on Sunday evening and start figuring out how to make it disappear by Wednesday. This is what four days at Big Bear actually looks like – races won, bikes broken, and a promise to be back next year that everybody actually keeps.
