The 250 class is ready for the gates to drop in Los Angeles as the second round of the 2026 SMX playoffs moves into the evening program. Levi Kitchen comes in with the red plate after taking the overall win in Columbus, but the championship remains wide open with Ryder DiFrancesco, Cole Davies, Daxton Bennick and Chance Hymas all still firmly in the fight. Columbus delivered plenty of movement with Bennick winning the opening moto and Davies rebounding from a rough first race to take moto two, proving how quickly the order can change in this playoff format. Now, with double points available at Dignity Health Sports Park, every position carries added weight. Two motos tonight could completely reshape the standings before the series heads to Missouri for the final round.

250 RACE RESULTS // OVERALL

Nick Romono would have to race through the wildcard race. He would finish 11th in moto 1.

The Austrian motorcycles have really figured out their starts,  Beaumer and Difrancesco would again go 1-2 on the start. Lap 2, Davies would crash big in front of the start gate, collecting Difrancesco with him. Kitchen must have read our first moto monologue and decided he would get a third-place start. By the 13-minute mark, Kitchen would be all over the rear wheel of Beaumer and overtake the number one position. We would hope Beaumer’s team lets him know he doesn’t need to beat Kitchen for the overall. Jo Shimoda would catch fire on lap 6 and finally find himself in second on lap 21.  Cameron Mcadoo would finish 7th on his final few rides before switching to the Quadlock Honda team. Kitchen would get a neck-and-neck battle on the finish line for third overall and keep the points lead by only 3 points.

With double points on the line, riders have to race and do the points math in their head.

250 RACE RESULTS MOTO ONE

Julian Beaumer would holeshot moto one.

The Factory KTM-mounted Julian Beaumer would pull an incredible start, he would be 3 bike lengths ahead just 50ft out of the gate. Your SMX points leader Levi Kitchen would again get a bad start, adding to his tally of starting outside the top ten. On lap 10, Levi pushed the front in a bowl corner and went down. Ryder Difrancesco and Cole Davies pressured Beaumer for the entire race. Davies, who had a 4th-place start, was clearly the fastest rider on track with 5 minutes to go. Davies would go down shortly after pushing too hard into the deep sand section. A bummer for the ClubMx team: all their riders finished outside the top 15. Drew Adams delivered an impressive, well-deserved ride. He was gifted the 3rd place by Davies, but staying off the ground is half the battle.

Drew has had a slow grind coming back from injury. He proved in moto one that he still has the speed. 

Ryder D has continued to impress with his solid podium results.
