ANTONIO CAIROLI TO COMPETE IN THE UPCOMING RED BUD AND SPRING CREEK NATIONALS
Ducati North America and Ducati Corse Off-Road announce that nine-time Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli will compete in two rounds of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship: Red Bud (July 5) and Spring Creek (July 12), racing the Desmo450 MX. These events will mark the first-ever North American race appearances for the Desmo450 MX, Ducati’s premier motocross machine, and Cairoli’s return to the AMA Pro Motocross Championship following his participation in 2022. The Red Bud and Spring Creek rounds—two of the most iconic tracks in American motocross—will also serve as key development opportunities for the Desmo450 MX in U.S. racing conditions.

Before taking to the gate, Cairoli will appear as Grand Marshal at the Southwick National on Saturday, June 28, greeting fans and supporting Ducati’s North American motocross efforts. Fresh off a strong seventh-place overall finish at the MXGP of Great Britain, Cairoli remains focused on racing as a tool for refinement. His participation in the U.S. rounds underlines Ducati Corse Off-Road’s goal of gathering data and feedback from real competition as the company expands its off-road footprint.
A closer look at Antonio Cairoli’s Ducati Desmo450 MX race bike he will be using to compete in the upcoming Nationals.
Antonio Cairoli states: “This American trip is very interesting, especially from a commercial and marketing point of view. The U.S. market is the most important in the world, and our main goal is to debut the Desmo450 MX in the USA just a few weeks before deliveries begin, while enjoying iconic tracks like Red Bud and Spring Creek. We’ll be racing with the production bike to introduce it directly to American fans and enthusiasts. Before that, I’ll be in Southwick on Saturday, June 28, serving as the event’s Grand Marshal. I don’t have any particular ambitions—just to have fun and entertain the American fans.”
Paolo Ciabatti, General Manager of Ducati Corse Off-Road states: “Bringing the Desmo450 MX to race in the U.S. is a significant milestone in our off-road racing project. The level of competition in AMA Pro Motocross is extremely high, and having a rider of Antonio’s experience allows us to accelerate our development in real race conditions. These rounds are not just about results—they are about learning, adapting, and furthering the evolution of our motocross platform in preparation for the future.”
STATS AFTER SOUTHWICK
Haiden Deegan grabbed his eleventh career 250MX win this past weekend tying Jeff Ward on the all-time win list.
In total Haiden Deegan has twenty-nine 250mx starts, he has twenty podiums, and twenty-two top-five finishes in his career. Deegan on his Yamaha has won back-to-back at Southwick in years 24 and 25. He is the first Yamaha rider to do so and only the fifth rider ever. Yamaha now has 120, 250mx wins and is third on the all-time win list.
Jett dominated at Southwick winning both motos by around fifteen seconds.
Jett Lawrence’s win at Southwick was his twentieth win in 450MX in just twenty-one starts. He now has tied James Stewart with twenty wins, however, it took James fifty-one starts to reach twenty wins. This is truly incredible riding from Jett Lawrence.

INJURED LIST:
CASEY COCHRAN – SHOULDER
Casey had a crash during qualifying for the Southwick National which resulted in a dislocated shoulder that will require surgery. He will be missing the remainder of the outdoor motocross season.
Sean Murphy, Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager: “It’s a tough break for Casey, especially after the adversity he’s already battled with the injury he sustained prior to Supercross. He’s shown incredible determination, and we were looking forward to getting a full outdoor season under his belt, but Casey is an extremely determined rider and we’re confident he will put in the work to get back on the bike as soon as he can.”
CHANCE HYMAS – KNEE
Chance Hymas was having a great season thus far where he won the Thunder Valley National and was up front at High Point. Unfortunately in the closing laps of the second moto at High Point, he ended up catching his knee in a rut and tearing his ACL. He also did damage to the MCL and PCL in his knee but the clear tear was ACL. He has undergone surgery and is on the road to recovery but will be missing the remaining outdoor rounds.
KAEDEN MINEAR – THUMB
Kaeden suffered a thumb injury in the second qualifying session at the High Point National. It was not stated the seriousness of the injury though he will be sidelined for at least the Southwick National.
GAVIN TOWERS – KNEE
Gavin Towers had stated he had been battling a knee injury for the past few months. He unfortunately ended up catching it in a rut at the High Point National which ended up tearing his ACL. He will go into surgery to get it fixed and will be missing the remaining rounds this season.
JEREMY MARTIN – BANGED UP
Jeremy Martin took a hard crash down the hill at the Hangtown National and will be sitting out the next few rounds. He is looking to get his health back to one hundred percent as well as build his speed back up and will return for the Spring Creek National which is his family’s race track.
MAX ANSTIE – LEG
Max Anstie actually attempted to ride at the Fox Raceway National but after press day he had made the decision his leg was not prepared for race conditions just yet. He has decided to sit out the first few rounds to make sure his leg was healed properly to be able to give his best effort for the rest of the season. It is not clear of his exact return to racing.
DYLAN FERRANDIS – STRESS FRACTURE
Dylan Ferrandis has a stress fracture that is keeping him out of action.
Dylan suffered a stress fracture to his leg and might sit out all of the AMA 450 Nationals, but if he heals, he might make a few of the late rounds to get points for the SMX Playoffs.
PIERCE BROWN – BACK
Pierce Brown had a tough crash while leading the race during the Tampa Supercross which resulted in a T5 break to his back.
“I felt great all night, leading my heat and main. Halfway through the main, I crashed in the whoops and unfortunately broke my T5 vertebrae. I had surgery to get it fixed so that I could get back to racing. I want to thank all my family, friends, fans, and the team for all of their support.”
TALON HAWKINS – FEMUR/RETIREMENT
Talon Hawkins had a scary crash at the San Diego Supercross when he attempted to seat bounce into one of the larger rhythm sections, sending him off the back of the bike and on the ground hard. As a result, he ended up breaking his femur. Talon has stated recently that he will be stepping away from racing and will start the next chapter of his life.
JETT REYNOLDS – FEMUR
Jett Reynolds had a practice crash while training during Supercross where he ended up breaking his femur. He will be out for the remainder of the season.
Mike Bonacci said: “I regret to announce that Jett Reynolds had a fluke crash while training on Friday and suffered a broken leg. It will unfortunately take him out of racing for the balance of the Supercross season. He had surgery at 6 am this morning and will start his rehabilitation process next week. As you have seen, Jett was making great progress in the Supercross series and on the way to his best overall performance in his young career. He is obviously disappointed but will fight his way back to be even stronger for the outdoor series in May. Please wish him well.”
CAMERON MCADOO – KNEE
Cameron McAdoo aggravated his pre-season knee injury mid-way through the Supercross season.
Cameron McAdoo hurt his knee prior to the Supercross season starting. He decided to ride and was actually one of the top riders in the class each week, but realized that was in his best interest to get it fixed. He will be out for the remainder of the year.
