Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayWith the ongoing absence of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton from the New York Yankees lineup, it was evident that an outfield bat was needed.
New York got that bat less than an hour before the trade deadline in a deal it struck with the San Francisco Giants.
Heliot Ramos is headed to New York
According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, the Yankees have acquired outfielder Heliot Ramos from the Giants.
In return, San Francisco has received left-handed prospect Henry LaLane, the No. 5 prospect in New York's organization.
Heliot Ramos has crushed left-handed pitching
New York was desperately in need of another right-handed bat to put in the lineup against lefties and Ramos will thrive in that role.
So far this season, Ramos has slashed .292/.343/.492 with an .835 OPS in 65 at-bats against left-handed pitching.
He will certainly be an upgrade over Trent Grisham, who has hit just .231 against lefties and just .211 overall for the season.

Do the Yankees have enough offense?
A major area of need for the Yankees was the catcher position but that was ultimately not addressed. Instead, New York made moves for Ramos and infielder Luis Garcia Jr.
There is an argument to be made that the hopeful returns of Judge, Stanton and Cody Bellinger later in the season will provide the offense with the spark it needs.
If the returns of any of those players mentioned are halted and delayed, the Yankees may find themselves limping into the postseason.
