The Washington Wizards have emerged with interest in signing DeMar DeRozan. The Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets have also expressed interest in DeRozan, who is a free agent after he was waived by the Sacramento Kings in early July.

The Wizards are trying to accelerate their rebuild with the previous additions of veterans Trae Young and Anthony Davis. The Wizards draft AJ Dybantsa with the first overall pick as he becomes their young franchise player.

DeRozan, who is represented by Aaron Goodwin, appeared in 77 games last season with the Kings and averaged 18.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
