The Cleveland Cavaliers are still working on steps to secure a FIBA Letter of Clearance from Real Madrid in order to sign Mario Hezonja, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Real Madrid are reportedly pushing back on the signing because Hezonja did not sign until July 26.

Hezonja's contract at Real Madrid featured an NBA out clause for $1 million that expired on July 20.

Real Madrid has reportedly proposed retaining Hezonja's EuroLeague rights in return for letting him sign with the Cavs.
