Court McGee’s final walk to the Octagon ended in heartbreaking fashion as Eric Nolan stopped the longtime UFC veteran in the third round at UFC 332.
The Utah native entered Salt Lake City knowing this would be the final fight of a remarkable 16-year career. Instead of getting the storybook ending, McGee was stopped by Nolan at 3:26 of Round 3, handing “Night Time” his first UFC victory.
“The Crusher” started brightly in his 37th professional fight and 25th UFC appearance, immediately pressing forward and looking for takedowns while forcing Nolan toward the fence.
Nolan gradually found his range in the second round, walking “The Crusher” down with heavier combinations after McGee had opened up his nose with the jab. The fight remained competitive heading into the final five minutes, but Nolan began pulling away in the third.
