Robbie is the Assistant Editor at Football FanCast.

Having graduated from the University of Exeter in 2020, Robbie spent time working as an intern or in freelance positions across a variety of sites, including at 90min, producing news and feature content related to clubs in the Premier League, EFL, SPFL and in Europe.

Robbie subsequently spent over a year working as a news, features and opinion writer at Football Faithful, primarily focused on the Premier League and Manchester United, in particular.

After beginning life at Football FanCast as part of the company's academy set-up in 2022, Robbie has risen through the ranks to now taking on the role of Assistant Editor since October 2023, having also been part of the Exclusives team in the past.

Across the last few years, Robbie has covered Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers on a regular basis, alongside a raft of other clubs, boasting an in-depth knowledge of the Premier League, EFL and Scottish football in general.

Robbie is a Manchester United fan, but also has a particular fondness for both Celtic and Wycombe Wanderers, taking in a multitude of home and away games for the Chairboys over the last two decades.

And so to the final day we go, with reigning champions Celtic just about keeping pace with leaders Hearts at the Premiership summit, ahead of a mouthwatering Parkhead showdown on Saturday.

Once again, the Hoops made hard work of it, reliant on a last-gasp penalty to keep this thrilling title race alive, with super-sub Kelechi Iheanacho calmly doing the business from the spot.

The Nigerian, alongside Daizen Maeda, has been the decisive figure of recent weeks, although the season as a whole still belongs to Benjamin Nygren, the 24-year-old rifling home his 16th league goal in stunning fashion on Wednesday night.

He might have his flaws and his critics, but it's difficult to know where the Hoops would be without their free-scoring Swede, with the left-footer representing the type of deal the Glasgow giants need to replicate this summer.

Celtic now leading the race to sign £10m forward at Parkhead

Nygren's 21-goal heroics in all competitions have masked the long-standing issues at centre-forward, with none of Callum Osmand, Junior Adamu or Tomas Cvancara involved in the matchday squad at Fir Park, albeit while largely due to injury.

Iheanacho is now firing at a rate of one goal every 90 minutes in the Premiership, although the 29-year-old has almost been wheeled out on occasion to save the day, never looking likely to make a sustained impact from the start.

It would be negligence for the Celtic board not to end this lengthy search for a genuine successor to Kyogo Furuhashi, with even Adam Idah's 20-goal 2024/25 campaign being looked back on fondly, considering the current predicament.

Well, thankfully, it appears there is positive news on that front, with transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio - speaking to Spilxperten - reporting that it is the Hoops who are "leading the race" for the signing of Bodo/Glimt striker, Kasper Hogh.

It is claimed that the Parkhead side are ahead of title rivals Hearts in this transfer chase, with Di Marzio noting that it is "very likely" that the Dane joins Celtic this summer.

Hogh had previously been a target for the club back in January, with a reported asking price of around £10m having been mooted.

Why Hogh could be an even better signing than Nygren at Celtic

Dipping into the Scandinavian market has certainly been fruitful for Celtic of late, as Nygren has showcased, with the left-footer having flourished since his bargain £1.7m arrival from Nordsjaelland.

He had toiled for much of Wednesday's meeting with Motherwell, failing to provide any sense of creativity, yet when Martin O'Neill's men needed him, the Swede stepped up to the plate and then some.

As that wicked effort showcased, the 2025 arrival is so deadly from range, having notably curled home a delightful free-kick from a similar position in the draw away at Tynecastle back in January.

Already up to 21 for the season, Nygren had previously only scored 35 in over 100 games for his former employers, taking his game to another level in front of goal.

Hogh's superior record in Scandinavia could then suggest that he might prove an even bigger hit in Scottish football, with the 25-year-old having been prolific in recent seasons at Bodo.

Hogh goals per season

Across 2024 and 2025 in the Norwegian top-flight, he hit 29 league goals alone, while he's already started the new season with seven goals and his assists in his first seven Eliteserien games.

His 17 league goals in 2025 came at a rate of one every 122 minutes on average, boasting a stellar 21% goal conversion. In Nygren's case, his 16 Premiership goals this season have come at a rate of one every 154 minutes, while recording just an 18% goal conversion.

In comparison to Nygren's time at Nordsjaelland too, the £10m man has already hit 50 goals in just 98 games in all competitions for his current side to date, also bettering the Swede's return of eight assists with 19 of his own in that time.

What particularly sets Hogh apart too is what he has delivered on the big occasion, proving integral to Bodo's remarkable Champions League run in 2025/26.

His 12 appearances in the competition this term yielded five goals and a further three assists, memorably hitting the double to see off Manchester City in the league phase.

For a striker of that calibre to be considered 'very likely' to end up in Glasgow is certainly exciting, with Hogh the type of talent who could potentially hit the ground running in Scottish football.

Nygren, evidently, has been a real coup as far as Celtic are concerned, but the "exceptional" Dane - as hailed by teammate Ulrik Saltnes - might just be a class above.
