Fenerbahce guard Wade Baldwin IV drew attention after making a pointed remark about Los Angeles Lakers veteran Russell Westbrook following his team’s 79–69 EuroLeague victory over Anadolu Efes on Friday night.

After finishing with 10 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, and 7 turnovers, Baldwin joked about his stat line in the postgame interview. “That’s like a Westbrook on the Lakers statline right there,” he said, referencing the former MVP’s often polarizing numbers during his stint in Los Angeles.

Baldwin’s comment quickly circulated across social media, with fans interpreting it as both a self-aware joke and subtle shade at Westbrook’s reputation for high-volume play coupled with turnovers.

The 29-year-old guard helped Fenerbahce improve to 3–3 in the EuroLeague, as Sarunas Jasikevicius’ squad secured a key road win over their Istanbul rivals. The reigning champions overcame a slow start, rallying from a 24–18 deficit after the first quarter to control the tempo through the final three periods.

Scottie Wilbekin led Fenerbahce’s charge with a vintage performance, hitting 4 of his 5 three-point attempts and closing with 12 points. His late-game shooting stretched Efes’ defense and sealed the result. Devon Hall also scored 12, while Baldwin, Bonzie Colson, and Armando Bacot added balanced contributions in double figures.

Talen Horton-Tucker and Bacot both made their returns from injury, giving Jasikevicius additional depth. Horton-Tucker played 18 minutes and scored 5 points while defending the perimeter effectively. Bacot’s efficiency off the bench—9 points on 3-for-4 shooting—helped stabilize the rotation.

For Anadolu Efes, Nigel Weiler-Babb paced the team with 17 points, and Shane Larkin added 13, but the hosts struggled with turnovers and missed free throws in the fourth quarter. The loss dropped them to 2–4, while Fenerbahce’s win brought them back to .500 ahead of a road matchup with Valencia Basket next week.
