At just 23 years old, Kevin Vallejos (15-1) is already a standout talent with a bright future in the UFC, and he’s only getting better.
“El Chino” storms back into the Octagon this weekend after a jaw-dropping UFC debut at UFC Vegas 104. In under three minutes, he obliterated South Korea’s Seung Woo Choi with a monstrous overhand right that sent Choi crashing, followed by a vicious ground-and-pound flurry for the TKO (watch highlights). That was knockout number 11 for Vallejos — and his eighth first-round finish.
What sets the Argentine fighter apart isn’t just his raw power — it’s how he delivers it. His striking is sharp, technical, and creative, with fluid stance switches, slick head movement, and veteran-like trap-setting. Some compare his movement and finishing instinct to Ilia Topuria—It’s early, sure, but when you watch him box, the resemblance is uncanny.
Vallejos isn’t just a one-dimensional brawler, either. He boasts solid cardio and a developing grappling game, with two submission wins on his resume. While we haven’t seen much of his wrestling in the Octagon yet, he’s far from reliant on knockouts — even if he loves delivering them.
This weekend, he squares off against Danny Silva, a fireworks factory in human form. Is Silva a step up or down from Choi, a ten-fight UFC vet? Hard to say, but Vallejos is a massive betting favorite. Expect a banger — until someone (probably Silva) eats the canvas.
Oh, and his only loss? That was to Jean Silva (yep, that Jean Silva) on Contender Series Season 7. Vallejos is still the only fighter that Silva has not finished.
This 23-year-old is the real deal, but please, UFC, get him out of the Apex and onto a bigger stage.
