Tyrese Haliburton said Monday he is "100 percent" healthy and will have no restrictions for the 2026-27 NBA season.

"I am healthy," said Haliburton. "There will be no restrictions. That is not news. There is no source. I am the source. I'm good. I'm ready to go for the year.

"Now that we have guys coming back and I've been able to play in pickup and stuff, I'll be just fine. Don't worry."

Haliburton missed all of the 2025-26 season after tearing his Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Indiana Pacers were one win from its first championship when the injury happened. Without him, the Pacers went 19-63, the league's second-worst record. They also lost their first-round pick in a midseason trade with the LA Clippers for center Ivica Zubac.

Rick Carlisle pointed to the impact of his absence.

"You don't realize how important one player can be until you are without that player for a significant period of time," said Carlisle.

Haliburton said the team cannot ignore last season as it tries to rebound.

"We can watch as much film as we want from two years ago and the way our offense and defense looked, but we can't pretend like last year didn't happen," said Haliburton, who also battled shingles during his recovery. "We've got to correct those things to go into this year."

The Eastern Conference looks different since the Finals. The New York Knicks won their first title in 53 years, LeBron James and Jaylen Brown joined the Philadelphia 76ers, and Giannis Antetokounmpo was traded to the Miami Heat.

Carlisle said the team has not set a minutes plan for Haliburton ahead of the Oct. 21 opener against the New Orleans Pelicans.

"I can't tell you exactly what the load is going to be," said Carlisle. "We will be in very animated communication about it with the training staff and with him. At this point, it really appears that he has made a great recovery and a great return to play."
