Since being acquired at the deadline from the San Francisco Giants, Tyler Mahle has been on an impressive run for the Atlanta Braves.

Across eight starts with the Braves, he has boasted a 4-1 record with a 1.28 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 44 strikeouts. He has also recorded a 2.1 bWAR, adding to his successful tenure amid the team's postseason push. 

Prior to joining the Braves, Mahle underwent a difficult stretch, logging a 5.13 ERA across 18 starts. But since joining Atlanta, he has revamped his performance, emerging as an ace for the team. 

His 1.28 ERA is also third best for a Braves starting pitcher in his first eight starts with the team since 1910. He's also only allowed one run across 12 innings pitched, making him a significant bright spot in the rotation. 

Acquisition of Tyler Mahle has been a massive win for the Braves

Mahle's dominance has been a sign that the team should consider re-signing him in the offseason, as he's been one of the top trade-deadline acquisitions this season. 

In Atlanta's 6-2 victory over the Houston Astros on Friday, he pitched six strong innings, giving up only three hits, one run and a walk while tallying six strikeouts. In addition, he held the Astros to a .109 batting average with a 24% whiff rate and a 30% CSW. 

The 31-year-old helped the team clinch a postseason berth on Friday, and he will soon make his first career playoff start with the Braves, who Braves have now successfully made the playoffs for the eighth time in nine years. Mahle's consistency will likely position him as the Game 2 starter in the postseason.
