Tunisia beat Morocco 3-1 in the semifinal of the 2026 African Men's Volleyball Championship, winning 25-17, 20-25, 25-16, 25-12 in Tunis, according to WorldofVolley. The result puts the host nation one victory away from its 12th continental title.

The match, played at the Sports Palace of El Menzah, took one hour and 40 minutes, WorldofVolley reported. The Tunisian news agency TAP confirmed the same set scores and identified the semifinal as taking place Wednesday evening.

A Lopsided Statistical Night

Tunisia dominated on both ends of the net. The hosts finished with 53 attack points to Morocco's 37 and won 10 blocks to Morocco's five, per WorldofVolley. Overall, Tunisia outscored Morocco 95-70 across the four sets.

Opposite Ali Bongui led all scorers with 17 points for Tunisia. Outside hitter Oussama Ben Romdhane added 15 for the hosts. Morocco's top performer was Oussama El Azhari, who finished with 16 points.

Morocco took the second set, 25-20, before Tunisia reasserted control and closed out the match in the third and fourth.

Olympic and World Championship Stakes

The African title carries direct qualification weight. The champion earns a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, WorldofVolley reported, while all three medalists from the tournament qualify for the 2027 Men's World Championship.

That means Tunisia's semifinal win already locks in a podium finish and a World Championship berth. A win in the final would add the Olympic slot.

Cameroon Sets Up the Final

Cameroon beat Algeria in the other semifinal to book its spot, according to WorldofVolley.

Morocco, meanwhile, moves into the bronze-medal match. The loss ends Morocco's run at a title but leaves the team competing for a podium finish and a place among the three World Championship qualifiers from this tournament.

Tunisia has not lost the plot on home ground this week. One more win puts a 12th continental crown, and a Los Angeles 2028 berth, within reach.
