For those seeking something more unique, Trek offers its Project One bike builder. Those who seek increased customization will appreciate Trek’s Project One ICON, the brand’s ultra-premium paint schemes.
Trek has two new offerings from the fully customizable, ultra-premium paint project. First is a special edition collaboration with Topo Designs. The other will be the official color scheme of the Trek Factory Racing triathlon team.
Project One ICON x Topo Designs

This incredibly unique Project One ICON paint job marks the first collaboration between Trek and Topo Designs. The Topo paint will be available exclusively on Trek’s Checkmate SLR Gravel bikes.
The collaboration brings together Topo’s classic style with the attention to detail of the Project One artists. The paint represents adventure and the natural landscapes found in doing so. Clean lines on the Checkmate also represent the gear bags one would use on such an adventure.

Speaking of gear bags, it wouldn’t be a Topo collab if there weren’t frame and handlebar bags with the matching Project One paint and patterns. These Topo Design bags are sold separately and can be found on Topo’s website.

Trek and Topo Design’s collaboration hoped to inspire adventure through a truly eye-catching piece of art. And Trek’s Checkmate SLR, with the DNA of one of the brand’s most capable gravel bikes, will surely have a performance level to match its paint scheme.
Paint that Spans the Gamut

Along with the special edition Topo Designs colorway, Trek’s Project One ICON will also feature another specialty color scheme. The Gamut is a vibrant, multi-color paint scheme with deep purples (not the band), vibrant reds, and bold and soft blues.
Gamut will be the official colorway of the Trek Factory Racing triathlon team competing at the 2025 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. The Project One ICON Gamut color scheme will be featured on the Trek Madone SLR and Speed Concept SLR road bikes.

Each new special edition ICON color scheme will be available on the specified model through Trek Project One. For riders who aren’t fond of those colorways or want a different bike, the platform allows users to customize their dream Trek at participating retailers or online.
The Bikes Getting the Project One ICON Treatment

Trek’s Checkmate SLR is the brand’s race-focused gravel bike. Built with Trek’s top-tier 800 Series OCLV carbon and aero-optimized tube shapes, it’s their lightest, fastest gravel platform. Featuring race-inspired geometry, 45 mm tire clearance, and rear IsoSpeed for added comfort.
The Checkmate SLR is available in two build options, as well as a frameset option, and is customizable through Project One.

Moving to road bikes and the Gamut Project One ICON special edition colorway, we first have the Trek Madone SLR. The Madone SLR is intended for the highest levels of road racing. It features Trek’s most recent 900 Series OCLV carbon and Full System Foil aero tubing. With clearance for 32mm tires, the Madone SLR strikes a balance between speed and stability for Trek’s top-performing athletes.
The Madone SLR is available in five builds, as well as a frame-only option.

For all-out speed, Trek riders choose the Speed Concept SLR. The bike is the choice for time-trials and triathlons, built with Trek’s 800 Series OCLV carbon and aero Kammtail Virtual Foil tube shapes. The tires are skinny (25mm) and the angles are steep and aggressive, with ultimate speed in mind.
Trek offers the Speed Concept SLR in four builds, along with a frame-only option. It is customizable through Project One, with the Gamut colorway as an option if that tickles your fancy.
Head to Trek’s website to get complete details on all their Project One options.
