Torre van Mechgelen of the De Baets AIT Racing Yamaha team secured sixth place during the penultimate round of the MX Nationals in Heerde. In the first race, he fought his way back from around 15th place after a poor start to finish sixth. In the second race, he was hit hard on the shoulder during a crash and was forced to retire from the race.

Van Mechgelen immediately felt comfortable during qualifying and posted the third-fastest time.

In the first race, he got a poor start and had to begin his charge from the back of the field. Van Mechgelen went on the attack and moved past one rider after another from 15th place. Within a few laps, he had moved into the top ten and maintained a strong pace to gain even more positions. Van Mechgelen produced a strong finish to the race and crossed the line in sixth place.

The second race started with a setback for Van Mechgelen as he crashed during the opening lap and was hit on the shoulder by another rider. Clearly in pain, Van Mechgelen left the race and was unable to score points in the second race.

On Sunday, October 11, Torre will compete in the final round of the MX Nationals in Valkenswaard.
