Oklahoma City Thunder rookie guard Otega Oweh suffered an apparently serious right leg injury during the team's preseason game on Tuesday. Oweh went down on a non-contact play in overtime of the Thunder's preseason victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Oweh immediately reached for the back of his right leg and had to be helped off the floor. The Thunder have not confirmed the extent of the injury, but the mechanism and reaction are consistent with a torn Achilles' tendon.

Oklahoma City selected Oweh with the 41st pick of the 2026 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-4 guard signed a two-way contract with the Thunder earlier this offseason.
