Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayCherneka Johnson owned all four bantamweight belts when she stepped into the ring Saturday night. Dina Thorslund left little doubt about who the better fighter was.
Thorslund dominated Johnson over ten rounds at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, winning 100-90 on all three scorecards to become the undisputed bantamweight champion in the MVPW-05 main event.
There was no close scoring to sort through afterward. Thorslund used pressure and relentless punching to keep Johnson from settling into a rhythm or finding sustained offense.
Johnson had become undisputed during Thorslund’s absence from the division, collecting the championships that became available after the Danish fighter gave up her WBC and WBO titles in June 2025 following her pregnancy announcement. Saturday finally put them in the ring together.
Thorslund dictated where the fight was contested and consistently outworked her opponent. Johnson couldn’t make the former champion pay for coming forward, spending too much of the night reacting rather than forcing a change in approach.
Deep into the fight, Johnson needed a stoppage to change the outcome. It never arrived. Thorslund maintained command through the final bell, removing any possibility of a scoring controversy.
The victory gave Thorslund the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO bantamweight titles.
Thorslund’s road back included circumstances far more difficult than anything she dealt with Saturday. She suffered a miscarriage after leaving boxing during her pregnancy and returned in January 2026, winning the WBC interim featherweight title.
Dropping back to 118 pounds gave her the opportunity to regain championships she had never lost in competition.
Johnson brought the hardware into the ring. Ten dominant rounds later, Thorslund left with every belt and control of the bantamweight division.
