The Sentient GRIFFYN is a successor to the full-suspension cargo bike prototype the small brand released last summer. For those unfamiliar, Sentient Works is one of the UK’s Omnium Bikes distributors and winners of the 2025 BESPOKED Apocalypse bike show. Since their impressive debut at BESPOKED UK in Manchester, they’ve taken inspiration from the show’s apocalypse-oriented remit and developed what appears to be one of the most capable cargo bikes on the market.
The GRIFFYN has front and rear suspension and is offered in both short- and long-wheelbase versions. With a 65-degree headtube angle, Sentient says this allows the 120mm Manitou fork to work efficiently through its travel, while also enabling more confident control. Meanwhile, the rear linkage provides 165mm of rear-wheel travel and is designed to keep the front platform level while preventing it from diving. For anyone worried about the complicated linkage, Sentient notes that the bike is designed to use 10 of the same Enduro bearings with extended inner races, so they’re easy to replace, and there are no proprietary spacers to lose.

The front cargo platform is 500mm wide, 775mm long, has a 40-kilogram load capacity, and slides into two parallel tubes at the front of the bike. It’s attached with clamps secured by two 5mm hex-head bolts and can be stored sideways by sliding the platform into just one of the tubes. All frames come with the brand’s custom cargo pillow. The pad contains 10mm of 3D foam for extra cushioning, and is made from durable, waterproof 1000D Cordura. The tensioning system on the cargo platform is made of 550 Paracord, which can be threaded through the loops and re-tensioned if it becomes loose. A Sentient-branded Strap is also included. It’s 3 meters long, made from military-spec 50mm webbing, and has an Austi-Alpin COBRA buckle.
The GRIFFYN uses a 30.9mm seatpost and has a maximum insertion length of 226mm. It also uses a BSA 73mm-threaded bottom bracket, a BOOST chainline of 55mm, a 38T max chainring, and 110x15mm and 148x12mm front and rear spacing. The bike has an IS mount up front and a post-mount brake standard on the rear. The bike ships with a standard derailleur hanger, but UDH dropouts can be added upon request. The bike’s 20″ fork will accept up to a 20 x 3.15″ tire, though Sentient says the design is based around the more commonly found 20 x 2.4″ size. The rear swingarm will accept a wide range of options, but it was designed around 27.5 x 2.6″ for the SWB, and 29 x 2.4″ for the LWB.
