Lowrider racks are great for running front panniers and keeping your bike’s center of gravity planted, but finding compatible forks can be challenging. The new Old Man Mountain Impala Lowrider rack addresses this by utilizing cargo axles and mounting pucks, making it work with nearly any road, gravel, or mountain bike fork. Learn more here…

The new Old Man Mountain Impala Lowrider departs from the minimal Divide and Elkhorn racks with extended side frames and extra-low pannier rails that dramatically lower the bike’s center of gravity and improve handling. Similar to Old Man Mountain’s other racks, the Impala Lowrider has a 6.3″ x 10.5″ (161 x 266 mm) deck that is perfect for baskets, bags, or OMM’s Juniper Trunk or Atlas Pack.

The Old Man Mountain Impala Lowrider features adjustable dropouts that allow it to fit 26″, 27.5″, 650B, or 29″ wheels with tires up to 2.3″ wide with room for fenders. It’s a front-specific rack that mounts directly with forks with rack mounts or to any fork using Old Man Mountain’s axle fit kits and mounting pucks. The fit kit allows it to fit nearly any rig, including road, gravel, or mountain bikes, and kits are available for quick-release and thru-axles. The rack can hold up to 55 pounds (25 kilograms)—39 pounds (18 kilograms) on pannier rails and 15 pounds (7 kilograms) on the deck.

The Impala Lowrider is made from a lightweight 6061 aluminum, with 1/2″ (13 mm) diameter tubing for the main rack frame and 3/8″ (10 mm) diameter tubing for the rack rails to fit all panniers. The top deck has slots for easily lashing gear in place and holes for mounting a light, and the entire rack is powder-coated black. The rack weighs 1,124 grams (2.4 pounds), is made in Taiwan, and comes with a lifetime warranty.

The Impala Lowrider is available today and is priced at $198 USD for the rack. An axle fit kit adds an additional $68 if your bike requires one. Head over to OldManMountain.com to learn more.
