Atlanta Braves star and 2023 National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. hasn’t played since June 9 against the Chicago White Sox, but manager Walt Weiss expects that to change this weekend in Baltimore. 

Acuna Jr. has been out since suffering his second hamstring strain of 2026, and has been limited to 53 of the Braves 102 games. Atlanta is still in first place in the National League East, but the Philadelphia Phillies are hot on their heels after a disastrous start to the season. 

The nine-year veteran is hitting .251 with seven homers and 22 RBIs in his relatively small sample size this season, but with a Rookie of the Year, MVP and World Series title under his belt, Weiss will need him healthy for the run to (and potentially through) the postseason.
