That’s what Tampa Bay Rays slugger Junior Caminero did on Wednesday, homering in his sixth-straight game with a 425-foot blast off of Kansas City’s Seth Lugo. In the process he became the youngest player to hit a home run in six-straight games at 22 years and 361 days old, breaking a record set by Ken Griffey Jr. in July 1993.
The homer also helped the Rays to their seventh win in a row which (combined with a seven-game losing streak for the New York Yankees) has given the Rays a 3.5-game cushion in the American League East. With nine HRs in his last eight games, the 2025 Home Run Derby participant is up to 24 this season after bashing 45 last year compared to just seven between 2023 and 2024.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Caminero became just the second player in Rays history to eclipse the 40-HR milestone in a single-season, joining Carlos Pena’s 2007 campaign. With that being said, can you name the last 40-HR hitter for each MLB club?
