Earlier this year, Fabian Furrer launched the Aper Gear APEX1 via Kickstarter—a small, ultralight tent that uses a bike in its setup. With plenty of interest and backing from its initial campaign, the Aper Gear store is now live, and the APEX1 is available worldwide. For more on the launch of the new site, find details below…

The Aper Gear APEX1 turned heads when it initially launched in October 2025. Small, compact, and pitched using a bike, the APEX1 is a tent made for bikepacking. With plenty of interest and support from its Kickstarter campaign, the Aper Gear store now offers a way for people to get this bikepacking-oriented tent worldwide, outside the schedule of a specific campaign.

Excluding duties and taxes, the APEX1 is available on the new site for $590. Per Aper Gear founder Fabian Furrer, every Kickstarter pledge has been fulfilled, and the APEX1 is now available worldwide with free shipping, with orders fulfilled in monthly batches. For example, any order placed before June 20th will ship in June. Though we covered all the details of the APEX1 when it launched, Fabian has also released a new, comprehensive product overview video that gives viewers an idea of how the APEX1 functions and why it’s different from other tents:

Aside from a product page for the APEX1, the site includes contact and warranty information, as well as a blog with content on the tent’s design and the adventures of those who’ve already started using it.
