Two other areas of importance for the Gers appear to be strengthening the spine of the team with a plethora of players target in midfield and the centre of defence.
Dan Neil and Elliot Watt are the two primary targets in midfield while as far as the defence is concerned, they continue to be linked with Casper Widell who plays for Excelsior in the Netherlands.
All three players would represent fine acquisitions but there is potentially an even more exciting addition waiting in the wings.
Rangers could sign another forward after Shankland
While a move to sign Shankland from the Jambos was hardly much of a surprise, it was something of a shock to see just how quickly the deal went through.
Technically the window isn't even open yet. A ball hasn't even been kicked at the World Cup but the Scottish striker will jet out to north America as a Rangers player.
It's a dream come true for the centre forward. A boyhood Rangers supporter, he has been linked with a move to Ibrox for a number of years now and that ambition to head to Glasgow has finally been realised.
Still, there could be more to come in the forward positions. Rangers are not activating their option to buy Andres Skov Olsen so a right winger could be purchased or loaned.
On left side of the attack, they are harbouring ambitions of bringing Mikey Moore back to Scotland. That's according to Chris Jack of the Rangers Review.
Reporting on Tuesday, he revealed that Moore is a player Rangers 'want', further declaring that the winger feels as though he has 'unfinished business' at Ibrox.
Whether the 18-year-old does make a return after spending the 2025/26 season on loan with the Light Blues will come down to Spurs. They have a new manager in the form of Roberto De Zerbi who may take a liking to the teenager's spritely set of qualities.
Why a Moore return would be a dream for Shankland
In Shankland, Rangers have signed the best striker in the Premiership. Whatever you may think about the division's top scorer Tawanda Maswanhise or Hearts' Claudio Braga, no one has been doing it at a more consistent level and for as long a period of time as Rangers' new signing.
In 2025/26, the Scotland international netted 16 times in the league, just one behind Maswanhise.
He remarkably only scored eight the season prior but before that, the 30-year-old was electric. In 2023/24 Shankland bagged 24 league goals and in 2022/23 the attacker found the net on another 24 occasions.
What Rohl needs to ensure happens, therefore, is that Shankland's new teammates provide him with a whole host of chances to score from.
Signing Moore, even if it's only on loan again, would be a great first step at partnering their new striker with a lively forward presence. The youngster may have only scored seven goals and registered four assists for Rangers but his performances were far more impactful than those numbers suggest.

His valuation, according to Heart and Hands' David Edgar has soared to as high as £40m and it's hardly a surprise.
Much to the delight of Shankland if he joins, only two forwards created more big chances than Moore (7) did in the Premiership while only four forwards created more key passes per game (1.2) than the Spurs youngster.
When it came to successful dribbles per match, Moore was right up there again. This time only two players, Ibrahim Said (1.7) and Sebastian Touenkti (1.6), completed more take-ons than Rangers' dazzling loanee (1.5).
Hailed as a "future superstar" by former Spurs man Gary Mabutt, there is every reason to believe that he is already a superstar. He was certainly one of the best players in the Premiership during 2025/26.
For Shankland, those metrics would be particularly exciting if they get the opportunity to partner each other in attack next season. If you thought the Scot was good at Hearts, he could get even better alongside Moore.
