Daniel is an experienced football writer and editor, having worked in the football media industry for over a decade.

After voluntarily writing for Fresh Press for two years, helping to build and establish the Read brand, Daniel started a part-time job with Fresh Press that later turned into a full-time writing and editing role, writing for club-specific pages such as Read Norwich, Read Celtic, Read Liverpool, and Read Arsenal.

Daniel spent just shy of a year writing and editing for Liverpool-based website, Anfield Watch, which included conducting and/or transcribing interviews with Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg, former Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, and journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Since the summer of 2021, Daniel has worked for Snack Media (now Valnet) and has been a contributor to Football FanCast, on a freelance and full-time basis, as a writer and editor.

Daniel is a Norwich City fan and season ticket holder. He has been heard on BBC Norfolk and helped DAZN with research for their commentary due to his knowledge of the club, along with being featured in several local papers across the country, including the Coventry Telegraph and the Liverpool Echo, for Norwich-related content.

Daniel's knowledge extends to Scottish football, having covered Celtic and Rangers for several years. He particularly enjoys producing player analysis and producing transfer content.

The deal to bring Lawrence Shankland to Glasgow Rangers has to be the start of a busy summer for Danny Rohl and the recruitment team at Ibrox.

After finishing ten points adrift of first place in the Scottish Premiership season, the German head coach needs to make significant changes to the team to challenge for silverware next term.

Shankland's arrival is a strong start to the summer transfer window for the Light Blues because he plundered 16 goals in the league for Hearts, more goals than any Rangers player managed in the league.

The Scotland international, who struck twice for his country against Curaçao on Saturday, could be the main man up front for Rohl in the 2026/27 campaign, competing with Youssef Chermiti.

Rangers need goals from all areas of the pitch, though, and not just their strikers, which is why they need to add more goalscoring quality across the field.

Interest confirmed in Rangers transfer target

Chermiti, who scored 15 goals, was the only Gers player who hit double figures for goals in the Premiership, scoring a hat-trick on the final day of the campaign against Falkirk.

Thelo Aasgaard, who also scored in that win over Falkirk, was the club's top scoring player from midfield with a return of seven goals in 33 games, and the Light Blues are now eyeing a midfielder who can offer a greater threat in front of goal. Here's a clue, it's not Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil who the Gers are reportedly interested in.

According to RangersNews, sources close to ETO FC central midfielder Milan Vitalis have confirmed that there is serious interest in a summer deal for his services.

The report claims that those sources are unwilling to confirm exactly which clubs are keen on a move for the Hungarian midfield star, though, despite other outlets revealing that Rangers want to sign him.

RangersNews adds that Rangers, Celtic, and Aberdeen are all looking at a deal for the 24-year-old talent, but it remains to be seen how much it will take to snap him up in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This update from sources close to the player does, at least, show that there is genuine interest in a summer transfer for the Hungary international, and it is now down to the Gers to win the race for his signature.

Why Lawrence Shankland would love to play alongside Milan Vitalis at Rangers

The Scottish giants cannot just rely on their strikers, namely Shankland, to score goals on a regular basis if they want to win the title next season.

Four players hit double figures for goals in the Premiership when Rangers last won the league in the 2020/21 campaign, as Alfredo Morelos, James Tavernier, Kemar Roofe, and Ryan Kent all scored at least ten goals.

Vitalis' form in the Fizz Liga suggests that he has the potential to get near double figures for goals with the Gers, whilst he can also provide the kind of creativity that Shankland would thrive on.

The £1.1m-rated man scored at least two more goals than any Rangers midfielder at league level in the 2025/26 campaign, missing just one 'big chance' on his way to scoring nine times.

His goal tally suggests that he could hit double figures for goals if they can keep him fit for all 38 games in a team that will look to dominate matches and win the title by having plenty of the ball for him to make things happen at the top end of the pitch.

Vitalis, described as a "goalscoring threat" by Kai Watson, could ease the burden on Shankland by chipping in with goals from the middle of the park, whilst the Scotland international may also love him for his creative quality.

The former Hearts captain is a proven goalscorer at Premiership level, with 80 goals in the league, and will score goals if he is supplied with a steady stream of chances.

Vitalis averaged more key passes per game (2.0) than any Rangers midfielder averaged in the Premiership this season. Only James Tavernier (2.1), who is leaving at the end of June, averaged more key passes per game.

This suggests that he has the passing quality and creative vision required to provide Shankland with the opportunities that he needs in front of goal to score regularly for Rangers, which is another reason why the Scottish star would absolutely love him at Ibrox.

It is now down to the club to beat the likes of Celtic and Aberdeen in the race to sign the Hungary international to pair him with Shankland next term.
