The Classic Squak Grid Fleece is a polyester fleece hoodie that works well as a sweater or mid-layer in cooler weather. Grid fleece is a synthetic fleece fabric with a distinctive grid-like pattern. This pattern is created by varying the thickness and density of the fleece fibers to trap air, providing insulation and warmth. Available in a wide range of colors, the Squak Classic has an oversized front kangaroo pocket, thumbholes, and an adjustable hood that helps seal in warmth when the temps drop.

Grid Fleece is popular because its raised square pattern traps body heat while its open channels let water vapor escape during high-energy activities. It's more durable than other forms of fleece, such as Polartec Alpha Direct, so it can withstand the rigors of outdoor use; it has enough wind resistance to be used as an outer layer, and it layers well under a windbreaker or rain shell.
The Classic Squak is styled as a technical fleece with features designed for more active use, but it performs equally well when worn in your sleeping bag, hanging out in camp, or around the house.
The large kangaroo pocket can hold a ton of gear ad keep your hands warmThe star of the show is the huge kangaroo pocket, which you can use to store odds and ends in camp like a marsupial pouch. It's the perfect place to stash a headlamp and keep your hands warm while dinner is cooking in cool weather.
The hood is adjustable, with an offset cord lock. While this is probably easier to sew and certainly looks more rakish, placing the adjustment off to the side makes it easier to reach under a quilt and prevents it from interfering with a center zip under a jacket.
Finally, the sweater has thumbloops, which are great for keeping your hands warm on cold mornings and help prevent your sleeves from bunching when you put on a jacket.
All this for just $60. That's really an unbeatable price for a grid fleece hoodie that you'll wear like a second skin.
