If you’re buying a pair of carbon wheels, the reassurance of a lifetime warranty can often help you justify the cost. But what happens when the company that manufactured those wheels goes out of business and the warranty is no longer valid?

That’s the situation owners of Revel wheels found themselves in after the recent surprise closure of CSS Composites. Revel wheels were the first to be marketed with FusionFiber carbon tech, and the two companies worked together to “redefine composite rim technology.” Revel points out that they haven’t actually produced any wheels with CSS for a while now, but they still wanted to honor the warranty of any Revel wheels currently in the wild.

To do so, Revel looked to another wheel powerhouse – Industry 9. It’s a big ask for another wheel brand to take on the warranty claims of another company’s wheels, but Revel will be footing most of the bill for rim replacements or complete wheel rebuilds. There will also be a cost to the consumer with either a $175 charge for a rim-only replacement or $250 for a full rebuild at I9. The rim-only option leaves the wheel rebuilding up to you or your local shop, while the full rebuild includes new spokes, nipples, and labor at I9.

How to Start a Warranty Claim

1. Reach out to [email protected] with a photo of your damaged wheel and proof of purchase.

2. Revel will confirm if your case qualifies under warranty.

3. You’ll choose either Option A or Option B.

4. Revel will provide labels and instructions for shipping.

Option A: Rim Only Replacement

 If you’re comfortable having a local shop rebuild your wheel:

       o We’ll send you a brand-new carbon rim.

       o Your cost: $175 USD.

This includes the rim and shipping.

Option B: Full Rebuild with Industry Nine

If you’d prefer a complete rebuild handled by the experts:

       o Ship your broken wheel directly to Industry Nine using a Revel-provided shipping label.

       o I9 will rebuild your wheel with a new rim, fresh spokes, nipples, and labor.

       o Turnaround is usually 1–2 weeks.

       o Your cost: $250 USD.
