Robbie is the Assistant Editor at Football FanCast.

Having graduated from the University of Exeter in 2020, Robbie spent time working as an intern or in freelance positions across a variety of sites, including at 90min, producing news and feature content related to clubs in the Premier League, EFL, SPFL and in Europe.

Robbie subsequently spent over a year working as a news, features and opinion writer at Football Faithful, primarily focused on the Premier League and Manchester United, in particular.

After beginning life at Football FanCast as part of the company's academy set-up in 2022, Robbie has risen through the ranks to now taking on the role of Assistant Editor since October 2023, having also been part of the Exclusives team in the past.

Across the last few years, Robbie has covered Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers on a regular basis, alongside a raft of other clubs, boasting an in-depth knowledge of the Premier League, EFL and Scottish football in general.

Robbie is a Manchester United fan, but also has a particular fondness for both Celtic and Wycombe Wanderers, taking in a multitude of home and away games for the Chairboys over the last two decades.

Glasgow Rangers will be gearing up for another seismic summer at Ibrox, with something of a squad overhaul potentially on the cards, both in terms of outgoings and incomings.

Last time around, the marquee exit was that of Hamza Igamane, the young Moroccan departing for Lille on a £10.4m deal, just a year on from arriving for a fraction of the price from AS FAR Rabat.

His stay might have been short and sweet, but that type of deal is one the Gers will be looking to mirror moving forward, with interest notably rife in £35m-rated centre-back, Emmanuel Fernandez, after his promising debut season at Ibrox.

Snapping up a bargain before raking in a significant profit, like in the case of Igamane and perhaps now Fernandez, appears to be a trend Rangers are keen to follow, as recent transfer reports might suggest.

Rangers among raft of clubs to register interest in £500k sensation

The season isn't yet at an end, although with Rangers' title hopes having hit the skids, attention is now turning to possible reinforcements to add to Danny Rohl's ranks for next season.

Having plucked Fernandez from England's EFL last summer, the Glasgow side may well do the same again this time around, with speculation rife over their interest in Plymouth Argyle striker, Lorent Tolaj.

The 24-year-old was among the star attractions in League One this season, as too was Huddersfield Town sensation, Cameron Ashia, with the fleet-footed winger also now on Rangers' radar.

As per the Daily Mail, Ibrox officials appear to have already opened talks regarding a summer move for the 21-year-old, having already made 'initial enquiries'.

The report outlines that a string of clubs across Britain are showing an interest, as too are the Bundesliga pairing of Stuttgart and Hoffenheim.

In terms of a price tag, even with Huddersfield extending Ashia's deal for a further year, there is a sense that he could be available for as little as £500k.

Why Ashia could be Rangers' biggest talent since Igamane

Igamane may have only enjoyed a fleeting relationship with Rangers, but at his best, the mercurial forward was dazzling last season, scoring 16 times in all competitions, including four in just ten games in the Europa League.

He quickly appeared destined for bigger things, albeit while enduring a sour exit, having since seen his shoes filled somewhat by PFA Scotland's Young Player of the Year, Mikey Moore.

The scorer of the opener in Sunday's Old Firm, Moore is sadly only on loan at Ibrox, with a swift return to Tottenham Hotspur seemingly on the cards for next season.

In terms of finding a more permanent successor to Igamane as Rangers' next young superstar, Ashia might well fit the bill, having already been earning rave reviews south of the border.

The exciting youngster, once of Derby County's youth setup, has enjoyed a real breakthrough year with the Terriers, scoring six goals and registering three assists in his first 31 games at senior level.

That includes a return of six goals and assists from his 21 League One outings, despite actually only starting four games, proving such a handful in his favoured left-wing berth.

Cutting in from that flank, the in-demand wideman has that knack for being able to curl home from range, as he did to devastating effect against Leicester City back in August.

That quality, alongside his fearless dribbling prowess, has sparked comparisons to Manchester City speedster, Jeremy Doku, highlighting the potential diamond that Rangers could snap up this summer.

Doku, signed by Pep Guardiola on a £55.4m deal in 2023, has enjoyed a stellar season against at the Etihad, notably scoring three in his last two Premier League games, all of which have been when cutting in from that left flank.

The Belgian at his best has become almost unplayable for any opposition defender, with the hope being that Ashia can grow into a similarly feared prospect as his promising career progresses.

Still only 21, this would be something of a gamble as far as Rangers are concerned, although their £1.7m investment in Igamane certainly paid off, even after he had made just 59 senior appearances back in Morocco.

For a similarly minor fee of just £500k, the Glasgow giants could secure their next star of the future.
