Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe San Antonio Spurs' Western Conference Finals victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder averaged 10.8 million viewers per game across NBC and Peacock, making it the most-watched Conference Finals in 24 years, with the broader 2026 NBA Playoffs setting a 28-year high.
Game 7, which sent San Antonio to the Finals, drew an average of 15.9 million viewers and peaked at 17.7 million. The Spurs claimed Games 1 and 7, the two most compelling matchups of the series, as none of the middle games had any second half lead changes.
In the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers on ESPN in a largely one-sided series outside of a Game 1 overtime comeback by New York.
The 2026 NBA Playoffs are averaging 5.3 million viewers per game across ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and Prime Video, the strongest figure in 28 years.
The Finals, which will air exclusively on ABC, figures to push those numbers considerably higher. New York represents the largest media market in the country and is making its first Finals appearance since 1999, the last time the Knicks faced the Spurs. San Antonio is returning to the Finals for the first time since 2014. The series also marks Victor Wembanyama's debut on the Finals stage, giving the league its most prominent young star in one of the sport's biggest showcases.
