Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwaySean O’Malley might be way back in the contender line, but apparently he still has plenty of mainstream cachet.
The former UFC bantamweight champion received a shout-out from none other than hip-hop legend Eminem, who mentioned O’Malley during a rapid-fire verse in a feature spot on a new track from JID titled Animals (Pt. 1).
Check out the O’Malley lyric below:
They want me to go on the straight and narrow
Like the same shape that they make an arrow
Never sell out for the fame and wealth
Dave Chappelle of the rap game I’m never gonna play myself
Closest I ever came’s 8 Mile but the f*cking pain I felt when I lost Proof
Couldn’t explain how that devil came down then in one fell he swooped
Look at how foul he’s stooped, had to throw in that towel regroup
Like Sean O’Malley, still that mouthy youth
This here the finale try to rally troops
Better round up and corral recruits
But no matter how many you tally to surround these two
You could f*ck around an find out just what the f*ck we about when you see how we shoot
O’Malley had to “regroup” following a loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 this past September, when the Georgian juggernaut out-wrestled O’Malley for five rounds to claim his bantamweight title. While O’Malley made several notable lifestyle changes, including cutting out marijuana from his life in preparation for a rematch with Dvalishvili, he again lost to his rival at UFC 316.
The “mouthy youth” lyric could also be a reference to O’Malley’s rapid rise to stardom, which was in part due to his impressive knockouts and verbose personality. Unfortunately for O’Malley, despite his popularity, it’s unlikely he earns another crack at the 135-pound belt as long as Dvalishvili is champion.
