Glasgow Rangers need to add multiple new wide players before the end of the summer transfer window after they failed to win on the opening day of the Scottish Premiership season.

The club's need for wingers to be brought in was evident before the trip to Tannadice, but the 1-1 draw with Dundee United shone a light on how badly they need to get business done in those areas of the pitch.

Djeidi Gassama has now scored one goal in his last 18 appearances on the left flank for the Gers in all competitions and Derek McInnes does not have a single natural right wing option.

There are plenty of wingers who have been linked with a move to Ibrox before the end of the summer transfer window, and here are five options who could make sense for the Scottish giants.

Mikey Moore

Mikey Moore spent last season on loan at Ibrox under Russell Martin and Danny Rohl and ended the campaign as a key player on the wing for the Gers.

He has yet to leave Tottenham Hotspur permanently or on loan and it was reported last month that the Light Blues would be interested in bringing him back on another temporary deal.

The 18-year-old winger scored seven goals from 5.13 xG and created seven 'big chances' for his teammates in 25 starts in the Premiership, scoring four more goals than Gassama managed that term.

He could, therefore, return as an upgrade on the Mauritania international on the left wing and add more quality to McInnes' options on that flank.

Vaclav Cerny

Another player who has been linked with a return to Ibrox is Besiktas forward Vaclav Cerny, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at the club from Wolfsburg.

The Czechia international is said to be available for a fee of £8.5m and would join as a marquee addition on the right wing after his haul of 18 goals during his first spell in Glasgow.

At the age of 28, though, Cerny would not join the club with long-term potential or much in the way of re-sale value, which is one reason why they may opt for some of the other names to come on this list.

He is a proven Premiership performer who could come in and hit the ground running, though, and that is why it could still make sense for the Scottish giants.

Fares Ghedjemis

Rangers have recently been linked with strong interest in Frosinone forward Fares Ghedjemis, who is available for a fee of around £8m this summer.

In the 2025/26 campaign, the Algeria international racked up 26 goals and 'big chances' created combined for his team in the second tier of Italian football.

None of Rangers' midfield or wide players reached double figures for goals in the league last season, which suggests that Ghedjemis would add a level of goalscoring prowess that McInnes does not currently have out wide.

Amario Cozier-Dubbery

Rangers are one of the teams in the race to sign Amario Cozier-Dubbery from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion before the window slams shut.

The Light Blues do not currently have a senior left-footed right winger in their squad, which is why the 21-year-old forward could make a lot of sense this summer.

He racked up 18 goal contributions whilst on loan at Bolton Wanderers in League One in the 2025/26 campaign, cutting in on his left foot from the right to provide consistent quality at the top end of the pitch.

After watching Ryan Naderi play on the right flank against Dundee United, supporters may welcome the addition of a dynamic left-footed right winger racing down the wing.

Stephy Mavididi

On the other flank, Stephy Mavididi is one of the left wingers who has been linked with a move to Ibrox, after getting relegated from the Championship with Leicester City last term.

The English forward has only scored ten goals in the last two seasons combined as the Foxes have suffered successive relegations, but he produced 13 goals and six assists in the 2023/24 campaign as they won the Championship title.

Mavididi scored more goals in that season than Gassama has ever managed in a campaign in his club career to date, which suggests that he could be an upgrade on the left wing for the Gers.

All five of these potential signings other different solutions to the club's problems on the flanks, and it now remains to be seen if McInnes will look to finalise deals for any of them in the coming weeks.
