The Dallas Mavericks erased a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers 121-94 in a preseason matchup at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday night. Anthony Davis led the Mavericks with 18 points and nine rebounds in 32 minutes.

Los Angeles jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter after Jaxson Hayes won the tip. Gabe Vincent drained three triples early for 18 points as the Lakers built a 36-32 edge by the buzzer.

Rui Hachimura added seven points in the period with a driving layup and triple. Dereck Lively II blocked two shots to disrupt drives inside for Dallas.

The second quarter saw the Lakers extend their advantage on fast breaks. Hachimura scored 11 more points including a turnaround fadeaway that pushed the margin to 51-40 midway through.

Vincent capped the half with a step-back three for 22 points total. Dallas trailed 66-53 at intermission after Klay Thompson’s tip-in layup.

Dallas mounted its comeback in the third as P.J. Washington hit a pullup triple. The Mavericks outscored Los Angeles 31-20 in the frame to take an 84-86 lead.

Dallas’ No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg added 13 points with a running dunk late in the period. Lively II grabbed seven rebounds to fuel second-chance opportunities.

Vincent sat after halftime with his team-high output. Hachimura reached 19 points on a pullup jumper early in the third.

The fourth quarter turned into a rout as Dallas pulled away. Jaden Hardy drained a triple off the bench for seven points total.

Lively II posted 12 points with two dunks including an alley-oop. The Mavericks scored 37 points in the frame while holding Los Angeles to eight.

Washington dished six assists alongside his 13 points. Flagg finished with 13 points and three assists in 28 minutes.

Los Angeles rested 11 players including LeBron James, Austin Reaves and Bronny James.

The win moves Dallas to 3-1 in exhibitions. Los Angeles drops to 1-4 with the loss.

Hachimura led the Lakers with 19 points in 31 minutes. Hayes added 12 points and 10 rebounds in a double-double effort.

Dallas dominated the paint with 60 points to Los Angeles’ 34. The Mavericks forced 17 turnovers while committing just eight.
