Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayAs the Atlanta Braves secured yet another win on Saturday, one of their team leaders and top players reached a milestone and moved up an all-time list.
In helping the Braves to an 8-3 win over the Washington Nationals, which locked up winning the four-game series, Matt Olson clubbed his 30th home run of the season on his first at-bat of the game in the first inning.
Matt Olson reached 30 HRs for the fifth time in his career
The monumental home run got Olson over the hump after finishing with exactly 29 each of the past two years. Olson's 30th home run in 2026 gives him five seasons with at least 30 home runs in his career. He hit a career-high 54 in 2023 while playing in all 162 games before failing to reach 30 again until this season.
But Olson's home run total is already historic no matter how many he ends with this summer. His 176 home runs with the Braves firmly stand as the second most any player has ever recorded in their first five seasons with the franchise.
Every Olson HR becomes more historic for the Braves
Olson, who soared past Hank Aaron's 140 from when the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta, is only behind Eddie Matthews' 190 on the list.
Olson is having his most powerful season since 2023
And as he's in the midst of his most powerful season in a couple of years, Olson also has 68 RBI, 77 runs scored, 50 walks and 27 doubles in 111 games and 432 at-bats so far. He's hitting .264 with a .341 OBP and a .535 slug.
A four-time All-Star, including making it in both 2025 and 2026, Olson owns 318 home runs, 876 RBI, 789 runs and 1,269 hits as he's in the middle of his 11th MLB season.
