Marlon “Chito” Vera finally snapped his four-fight losing streak in emphatic fashion, dropping Charles Jourdain three times before securing a third-round TKO at UFC 331.

The former bantamweight title challenger returned to action Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, looking to revive his career after a difficult stretch dating back to 2023. Jourdain entered with three consecutive wins and was looking to make a statement against the experienced Ecuadorian.

The opening round was competitive, with Charles Jourdain using kicks and volume to keep Vera busy. Marlon Vera, however, consistently landed the heavier individual shots and began finding success with his counters and clinch work.

“Chito” took control in the second, timing Jourdain’s entries and landing increasingly damaging combinations. A right hand and uppercut combination sent Jourdain to the canvas, and although he recovered, Vera dropped him again with a jump knee before following up with another damaging sequence.

“Air” entered the third round still moving well, but Vera quickly went back to work. A left hand sent the Canadian crashing down for the third knockdown of the fight, prompting referee Mike Beltran to intervene at 2:02 of Round 3. Jourdain appeared to wave off the contest as the stoppage came.

The victory moved Marlon Vera to 16-11 in the UFC, ending his four-fight skid and giving him his first win in more than three years. His UFC résumé includes victories over Pedro Munhoz, Sean O’Malley and Dominick Cruz.

Meanwhile, “Air” dropped to 9-8-1 in the UFC after entering the fight on a three-fight winning streak.
